Opposing Property Taxes

The Davidson County Republican Party stands opposed to any new property tax increase, especially when Mayor Freddie O'Connell and the Metro Nashville Council refuse to control their spending. We've signed on to a press release alongside the Americans for Prosperity - Tennessee, and the Nashville Tea Party to fight this tax increase.

Property taxes are the most hated form of tax (Newsweek), and therefore we don't believe this is a partisan issue, especially not when the alternative is for the City to stop spending so much of our money. That's where things get political, because government rarely ever will vote to give itself less money. We must therefore stand up and demand that the endless cycle of tax-and-spend.
